Drunken golf-cart joyriders crash into police car

Two Princeton University students have been arrested in connection with a golf cart crash on Roper Lane in which the driver of the vehicle was allegedly intoxicated, police said.

Martin Jancik, 21, was at the wheel of the cart at about 2:20 a.m. Sunday when it crashed in front of borough Police Officer Daniel Chitren's police car, the police department said. Jancik, a member of the university's football team, was thrown from the overturned vehicle and his passenger, Ariel Rogers, 21, fled the scene on foot and did not heed Chitren's orders to stay, police said.

Chitren detained Jancik, who was not hurt, and charged him with drunken driving. He was released from police headquarters a short time later on his own recognizance. » Article here
