Father 'levels' student at football game

The father of a high school’s starting quarterback spent the weekend in jail and faces charges of child abuse and disorderly conduct after authorities say he punched a student who ran onto the field during Friday's game.

Students were running across the field at during the high school's homecoming game against, when one student wearing only tight purple underwear, a cape and shoes ran across the field as the team was kicking for an extra point.

Bobby Grunenwald, who is the father of the high school’s quarterback and kicker, became upset because he thought the prank distracted his son, which actually made his him miss the extra point. The father proceeded to leave his seat in the bleachers, assaulted the student and swore at him.

"Because of you ... my son just missed the extra point," before striking the student in the face with a closed fist. The 17-year-old student who was hit was bleeding from his mouth after the incident.

If convicted, the felony charge of child abuse carries a possible penalty of six years in prison. Click here to read the full article.
