Katrina & Rita could have been stopped?
Storm experts in the US have made a cloud vanish from the sky for the first time.
They achieved the feat by sprinkling a water-absorbing powder over the cloud, making it disappear from sight and weather station radar screens. They hope the powder will one day dry up deadly hurricanes and tropical storms.
Experts say it’s the moisture that gives hurricanes their strength. In the case of a huge hurricane, you would not be trying to soak it up altogether. But you would do is break it up and reduce its strength and killing potential. A company thinks they could save countless lives with this product.
The powder could also banish rain over open-air events and sports fixtures. The team hopes to get government permission to tackle a hurricane or tropical storm in the coming season. Click here to read more about how they tested this stuff… and how it actually works.
My take on all this- messing with ‘mother nature’ isn’t a good idea. In fact, the effects of fu*kin with ‘mother nature’ probably isn’t good. I’m sure in the short term this powder crap could work well- but I’m hoping the government does a little homework before they let these guys go ‘powder puffing’ around destroying a rain clouds and hurricanes.
