Statistically, Iraq is a safe place to visit...
Rep. Steve King, a Republican of Iowa, on C-span last week:
"...the violent death rate in Iraq is 25.71 per 100,000. That may sound high, but not when you compare it to places like Colombia 61.7" per 100,000 death rate, violent death rate. South Africa, has a higher violent death rate per 100,000: 49.6 per 100,000.

So Iraq, I mean, if you're just going to roll the dice and take your chances, Iraq's a much safer place to go than Washington or Jamaica or New Orleans pre-Katrina, or Venezuela!

What an interesting article!! That Matt must be a really sharp, smart, cute guy!!!
I wonder why Voice Of America can't find anyone to report from Bagdad then?
Spring-break to Iraq!
Cute, but not true, especially for te troops, whose casualty numbers are upwards of 400 per 100,00. You're relatiely safe compared o Columbian if you're a shepherdinTikrit, but in Baghdad, therate (for all) is over 75 deatsper 100,000, making Iraq one of the most dangerous places on earth- especially if you're an american, more so an American soldier.
I wonder if that idiot politician's conscience bothers him while he eats his dinner.
