Dude's car is stolen twice in two days? WTF?

Ryan Rozycki’s leased 2006 gray Honda Accord has been stolen twice since in two days. It has been pressure-washed inside in an attempt to wipe away any fingerprints, police said. Rozycki said he plans to leave the car at Emerine’s Towing until Monday at his insurance company’s request so an inspector can look at the vehicle.

Rozycki’s bizarre, out-of-sync saga began about 5 a.m. Thursday when he stopped at the Speedway convenience store on East Market Street and North Road for cigarettes and a drink.

When he walked out of the store after just a few minutes, he saw someone driving down the street in his Honda Accord. He called 911 and Warren police arrived to take a report and hand him a ticket for leaving the keys in the auto while the engine was on.

Rozycki later saw his car parked in the Perkins Family Restaurant on Elm Road N.E. as he was driving to the dealership to pick up paperwork for the insurance company. Again, he called 911 and Bazetta Police Chief Charles Sayers came out.

Sayers confirmed that it was Rozycki’s car and told the owner he could take possession of it, but Rozycki had to run home and pick up a spare set of keys to take the car home because there were no keys inside.

As the chief was keeping watch on the vehicle, he had to leave for another call, and the car was stolen for the second time.

Sayers said there are no leads on who stole the vehicle, but the person also took Rozycki’s bank card and used it for purchases at Wal-Mart, Sheetz and Home Depot. The police chief said he hopes to ‘‘track some of that information backwards and try to develop an identification.’’ Article here.
