Diamonds? Hell no, women want plasma TVs!
It looks like diamonds are no longer a girl's best friend. A new survey, commissioned by the cable television network Oxygen, said three out of four women would prefer a new plasma TV to a diamond necklace.
Even shoes lost out, with 86 percent of women surveyed saying they would rather get a new digital video camera as a gift instead of a pair of designer shoes.
The survey indicates the gender-technology gap is closing, with women on average owning 6.6 technology devices, while men own 6.9. The "Girls Gone Wired" survey polled 1,400 women and 700 men. Article here.
