Rail spike thrown from overpass hurts woman

A Sarasota, Florida woman is recovering from her injuries Thursday after someone dropped a railroad spike through her windshield.

Nathan and Deidra Dempsey were driving north on I-75 Tuesday with their 3-year-old son when an object fell from the sky and shattered their windshield.
Authorities said it appears someone threw the spike from the overpass. Deidra suffered a broken blood vessel in her eye from the shards of glass that came into the vehicle. Authorities found large chunks of glass in the back seat near the couple's child, but he was not injured. Article here.
