Dude crashes car into house going 100 MPH
Eyewitnesses said they saw a man driving 100 miles an hour through a neighborhood right before he crashed into a house. Deputies said the driver had a reason to try to get away.
The sheriff's Office said 25-year-old Darren Pla had been stalking his girlfriend, even though he had been ordered to have no contact with her. Deputies got a tip that he would be at her house, located down the street.
Instead he ended up crashing into a house on Laredo Drive. The owners of the property were hoping to sell their home and move to South Carolina. Those plans changed late Sunday night when a car ended up at their door step.
"The wall is missing. The whole garage is gone," said homeowner Marisa Charity. Charity's two sons were about to get to bed when the driver of a rented Nissan Maxima veered off the road and slammed head-on into the garage. One of her sons said the impact felt like an earthquake.
Damage was estimated at around $30,000, but things could have been much worse. Article here.
