Fraternity dudes sue Borat for racist comments
Two unsuspecting fraternity brothers who thought they were talking to a real journalist when they made racist and sexist comments in the "Borat" movie are suing the film's makers in Santa Monica.
The lawsuit claims that the film made the fraternity brothers at an unidentified South Carolina university into objects of ridicule and humiliation and that it cost them their reputations.
The plaintiffs said a production crew got them liquored up at a bar before they participated in what they were told would be a documentary to be shown outside the United States.
They claim they were duped into engaging in "behavior they otherwise would not have engaged in." The suit names 20th Century Fox and three production companies as defendants. A studio spokesman said the lawsuit "has no merit." PDF: Actual Lawsuit Documents. Article here.
