Woman crashes into pond while on cell phone

A woman was arguing with her boyfriend on her cell phone while driving her car and ended up in a pond.

Noel Methot, 24, was driving about 50 down Palmer, allegedly arguing with her boyfriend on her cell phone. That was all distraction enough for her not to notice the road ended, the sign for Lake Haven or the actual lake.

"I was just shocked, because she almost hit my dog," said Rebecca Rementer.
Rementer and other witnesses said it was a miracle no one was run over, pet or otherwise, in Lake Haven Park, where dog walkers were everywhere.

The car was airborne for 20 or 30 feet as it plunged down an embankment.

After the mishap, Methot got out of her car and tried to run, afraid she was in a lot of trouble. "She was scared and shaking, and she was trying to leave because she thought they were going to take her baby away," said eyewitness Sue Lippins, who also pointed out the woman's child was not with her.

Methot is in some trouble, but police said her injuries will be the worst of it, and those only constituted bumps and bruise, enough to be transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Police have not decided what to ticket Methot for, but probably inattentive driving and possibly speeding. For those who witnessed it, the cell phone seemed to anger them most.

That's why it's illegal here (possibly even everywhere in the EU) to be on the phone while driving...
