Baby girls named 'Katrina' is losing popularity

The number of baby girls being named Katrina is the lowest in decades. Even before the killer hurricane, the name was losing popularity. And after the 2005 disaster, Katrina's at the lowest ebb in popularity since the 1950s.

Emily and Jacob remain No. 1. Emily has been the top girls' name since 1996; Jacob for boys since 1999. For boys, the rest of the top 10 is Michael, Joshua, Ethan, Matthew, Daniel, Christopher, Andrew, Anthony and William. William is back on the list after dropping off for one year.

Emily is followed by Emma, Madison, Isabella, Ava, Abigail, Olivia, Hannah, Sophia and Samantha. The agency offers lists of baby names for each year since 1880 on its Web site.
