Amityville Horror the Movie

Its been a while since a scary movie has created a buzz, one about how the movie is actually really scary: Amityville Horror.

A young couple (Ryan Reynolds, Melissa George) and their children move into a house that was once the site of a horrific series of murders. Over the next 28 days, they find that the house might be haunted by a murderous presence.

What's even more scary than the's all based on a true story.

Satellite Pictures!

Did you ever see the movie Enemy of the State? Short summary: Will Smith tracked by satellites. As scary as it is, companies are now offering services to get high resolution prints of satellite pictures of anywhere in the world. Simply enter your street, city, and zip…and whaa-la. A picture that is 500 feet above your house (or wherever) appears. Some pretty neat stuff, or kind of scary. is the largest online atlas of satellite imagery and aerial photography. Anyone with Internet access has the ability to search, browse, and zoom in on images of the world.

Is it art? Is it self-expression?

I stumbled upon a blog that has some the most interesting (sometimes shocking) secrets. As the site quotes, "PostSecret is an ongoing community art project. People from around the world share their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard."

"Each secret can be a regret, hope, ,experience, unseen kindness, belief, fear, betrayal, desire, feeling, confession, or childhood humiliation. Reveal anything - as long as it is true and you have never shared it with anyone before."

After you start looking at the site you'll notice people really don't hold back on the secrets they are willing to share. Obviously their identity is kept secret, so this site is a good way for people to "release" these emotions without implications. Anyways, the site is full of interesting submissions from real people.

Roommate Confession...

I felt it was important to inform the world that my roommate made a startling confession the other night. He has confessed his love to the one and only Jamie Lynn Spears. This was after he watched (in his mind) an Oscar worthy performance on the Disney Channel. Unfortuntely, we had to break it to him (he is 20) that she is...14 years old. He claims that age is nothing but a number. I guess time/fate will tell.

Rock Chalk Begins...Again

Phi Delta Theta (my fraternity) finds itself in a wonderful position being serenaded by 3 sororities this year (Kappa, Delta Gamma, & Chi-Omega) all competing for us to pick them for a philanthropy (Rock Chalk Revue). The great thing is us men get to sit back and watch these sororities battle it out and make us decide to choose one. Below is one of the many paraphernalia posted outside/inside our house. This week is going to rock.

Norah Jones Lost Tracks

I stumbled upon two great old Norah Jones songs that are download worthy (unfortunately I don't have a link, so you will have to search on your Ares/Limewire program for it). Norah sang these two songs (Roxy Music's "More Than This" and "Day Is Done" by Nick Drake) on guitarist Charlie Hunter's Blue Note album Songs from the Analog Playground. Great Jazz/Blues feel to both songs.

  • More Than This - Norah Jones f/Charlie Hunter's Band
  • Day Is Done - Norah Jones f/Charlie Hunter's Band

New Foo Fighters Song...

For those of you who are Foo Fighters Fans, you definately don't want to miss this new mp3 download...'The Best of You'. I've heard mixed reviews from my friends about the song, but I think its aleast worth the download. If that link above doesn't work try here, here, or here.

I partied with Jesus last night!

I couldn't resist posting this picture from the party I went to last week. Somehow Jesus (aka Mr. R Walker) managed to make to our party as well. The party was a "mock-white-trash-wedding" at the biggest cowboy bar in Lawrence, KS...Coyotes! I wish I had a recording, Jesus also managed to do a little bit of rapping on the mic during the middle of the wedding.
