Woman shot six times in head, still alive?

A Brazilian woman who was shot six times in the head after an altercation with her ex-husband was out of the hospital and talking to the media on Saturday.

"I know this was a miracle," 21-year-old housewife Patricia Goncalves Pereira told Globo TV. "Now I just want to extract the bullets and live my life."

Pereira was shot Friday in the small city of Monte Claros, about 560 miles north of Sao Paulo, after quarreling with her former husband, who was reportedly upset because she refused to get back together with him. She was also shot once in the hand.

Doctors could not explain why the .32-caliber bullets did not penetrate Pereira's skull and didn't even need to be extracted immediately.

"I can't explain how something like this happened," surgeon Adriano Teixeira said, adding that the bullets were lodged under the woman's scalp. The ex-husband was still at large. Article here.

Britney Spears, giving baby pictures for free

Now that K-fed has stated he wants $16 million instead of the $2 million promised, Britney has decided to strike back. She will give away the first photos of her baby Jayden James for free, just so K-fed can't cash in.
(photo taken on November 8th)
TMZ had this to say: "According to Women's Wear Daily's Memo Pad column, the pop princess has decided to offer the pictures free, but not to the usual outlet for her photos, People. Instead, she'd like to follow in TomKat's footsteps and get them into a more highbrow monthly or bimonthly. People, for
its part, says it would be more than happy to have the snaps." Source.

Skydiver dude hits powerlines on the way down

A man was injured while skydiving in the Keys after becoming entangled in power lines near an airport.

According to the County Sheriff's Office, the lines burned Mike Wysong of Tequesta, Florida after he leapt from a plane. Once Wysong and the lines landed on the ground, the wires remained live for an additional 10-15 minutes until employees of the Florida Keys Electric Coop could arrive to cut power.

Wysong, 43, told MCSO deputies that he periodically felt surges of electricity the entire time he was lying down after the incident. Due to the risk of electrocution, responders could not assist him for medical transport until the power had been shut off.

After being airlifted from Fishermen's Hospital in Marathon to the Ryder Trauma Center in Miami, it was announced that Wysong had suffered burns over 15-20 percent of his body. When Wysong hit the power lines, it caused power surges as far south as Key West. Article here.

Dude kicked out of bar, drives truck through it

Deputies caught up with a driver who rammed his pickup into the front doors of a bar early Friday morning. Security guards said they tossed the man out earlier in the evening and that's when he got into his truck and drove right for them.

The man, who deputies said intentionally rammed his pick-up truck into the front door of a sports bar overnight, was taken into custody shortly after the alleged incident. Deputies found him hiding in a wooded area on Orange Blossom Trail near Holden Avenue.

Deputies said the suspect had been involved in a fight at Chaparros Sports Bar. When security guards asked him to leave, he got in his truck and allegedly drove right at them, smashing through the entry way.

The man came back about an hour and a half later to pick up his girlfriend. She called the Orange County Sheriff's Office to let them know he was on his way back. The man could be facing criminal mischief and aggravated assault charges. His name was not released. Article here.

Deer has 'pumpkin' bucket stuck to head?

This picture shows a small, immature deer with a plastic jack-o'-lantern meant for collecting Halloween candy stuck on its head. The fake pumpkin has been stuck on the animal's snout for at least several days. Zoo personnel, as well as other animal experts, planned to look for the deer Friday. They hope to safely shoot a tranquilizer dart into him, remove the plastic jack-o'-lantern after the buck becomes unconscious, and then take the animal somewhere to recover until he can be released back into the wild.

Fraternity dudes sue Borat for racist comments

Two unsuspecting fraternity brothers who thought they were talking to a real journalist when they made racist and sexist comments in the "Borat" movie are suing the film's makers in Santa Monica.

The lawsuit claims that the film made the fraternity brothers at an unidentified South Carolina university into objects of ridicule and humiliation and that it cost them their reputations.

The plaintiffs said a production crew got them liquored up at a bar before they participated in what they were told would be a documentary to be shown outside the United States.

They claim they were duped into engaging in "behavior they otherwise would not have engaged in." The suit names 20th Century Fox and three production companies as defendants. A studio spokesman said the lawsuit "has no merit."
