So this past Friday, Kanye West (rapper) flooded through with a tear about the federal response in New Orleans during the network's live concert fundraiser for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Him and Mike Myers (Austin Powers, Wayne’s World) where just supposed to read from scripts prepared by the network about the impact of Katrina on southern Louisiana and Mississippi. However, things didn’t go quite as planned. Kanye voiced his personal opinion:
Kanye West: I hate the way they portray us in the media. You see a black family, it says, "They're looting." You see a white family, it says, "They're looking for food." And, you know, it's been five days [waiting for federal help] because most of the people are black.
Kanye West: George Bush doesn't care about black people!
The funny and notable detail about this situation, is Mike Myers has no idea how to react during this whole broadcast. If you watch him closely- his face looks like a bus is about to hit him square between the eyes. Live TV rocks. The good thing about this situation is a celebrity (Kanye) might actually do good here and actually donate some of their millions- even if it is for a publicity stunt.
