This guy must be having a rough life…
A group of female hurricane Katrina survivors were told to show their breasts if they wanted to be rescued…Ged Scott (a survivor watching from a nearby hotel) watched as American rescuers turned their boat around and sped off when the women refused.
The account was just another example of the horror stories emerging from the hurricane disaster zone.
"At one point, there were a load of girls on the roof of the hotel saying 'Can you help us?' and the policemen said 'Show us what you've got' and made signs for them to lift their T-shirts," he told reporters. When the girls refused, they said 'Fine' and motored off down the road in their boat.
He said the experience made him want to vomit.
"I couldn't describe how bad the authorities were. Just little things like taking photographs of us, as we are standing on the roof waving for help, for their own little snapshot albums. The American people saved us. I wish I could say the same for the American authorities."
This is absolutely absurd. I can’t image that the authorities- people who are here to serve and protect would act in such a manner. Sick. Just sick.
Remember the days in elementary school/high school when you took typing class? I can’t even remember how many words per minute I was typing back then. Check out this website that tests your typing skills. If you want to take a mini-test on your own, try typing, “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.” This is the shortest sentence in English that has every letter in the alphabet. Click here to take the typing test.
It may not look like it- but this is what happens when you puncture a water balloon with a needle. This was photographed at high speed (1000 frames/sec) in a laboratory. Since the rupture process is on the order of milliseconds, the initial impact of the membrane retraction on the bulk fluid can be observed without the significant interference of gravity. I think this is pretty darn cool looking. Click the image to watch a video.
So apple just released the new collectors edition iPod- the Harry Potter Edition. This iPod is hardly different than the existing iPods, the only difference is on the back is an etched logo of the Hogwarts Crest, a symbol of the school of magic that Harry Potter attends. The Hogwarts Crest was originally drawn by author J.K. Rowling herself and illustrates the four houses that make up the school, Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. The Latin at the bottom of the crest translates to "never tickle a sleeping dragon." Included is the audiobook files of the entire Harry Potter book series. My take on this- unless you are a Harry Potter fanatic, this is just stupid to buy one of these. Everyone ends up buying a case (to protect it) that goes over your iPod, so what’s the point?
