Drunk college kid passes out, loses fingers & toes to frostbite

A University of Iowa student lost fingers and toes to frostbite after passing out in an alley for six hours during his walk home from downtown Iowa City bars early Sunday amidst subzero temperatures, police say.

The man reportedly had to have some fingers and toes amputated. The temperature at the time was minus 4 degrees with a wind chill of minus 25 degrees, National Weather Service meteorologist Andy Ervin said. » Full article here
